On a daily basis we, at DailyFractalFeatures

I am pleased to provide today's Feature.

I thought I'd kick off today's feature with something a bit different. This elegant piece was assembled in MB3D.
The artist has left links for all source materials so you too may have a go at assembling this piece. Is it raw or is it a manipulation?
I leave that discussion to you. What it most certainly is is a clever use of free resources to produce something fantastically realistic with free software that might, in other software programs, take hours of cutting, pasting, blurring and sharpening, feathering and interlacing.

The author of this piece has submitted it with a perfect quote which I am sharing with you!
"Layers of water, like liquid crystal, rushed in as the tide changed from the barren death of day to the nightly seascape, in an instant. Pushing against the deformities of rock and part animal shapes, as the the 3 moons rose ominously over the horizon of Zorkon, planet of the unknown..." by Piscabo

I know when I first started using MB3D that getting the different Dif shapes to combine and line up is tricky. So all power to your elbow
Rose Marie for producing this noteworthy piece.

Little Apo flowers form a spiral of beauty, swirling round in toffee apple colours. Hitch your wagon to her star cos this girls on fire!

This crazily fascinating piece has to be in panoramic view. It somehow calls to mind medieval works before perspective was invented.
It's wonderfully surreal and totally off balance. Redolent of hillside graveyards where night time shades are busy lurking! We are still looking for more Co-Founders to help out with our daily features. Please take a look at the details on our Home page.

Flower Festival 2015Hi all
For the months of July into early September we are running a Flowers Challenge. We know that many of you enjoy making this type of fractal and hope that lots of you will take the time to make something pretty. Flowers can be generated in most if not all fractal software. For instance Ultra Fractal, Apophysis and Mandelbuld 3D maybe Incendia and Chaotica, Frax even. I don't have user knowledge of a lot of fractal software so will be guided by you, but please.... no manipulations. Show off you skills with Raw Fractals. I guess an exception would be Light Maps used for colour and with DIFS.
UF users might want to explore the flower shapes in RKB.ulb, though I know there are lots of other ways to make flowers. and if any one knows a good tut for Apo flowers then do leave us a comment and I'll add it to the details
and our affiliate group
are also holding a Desert Themed Contest. Please visit the group for more details.
Whilst we are on this theme, another affiliate
are holding a fractal manipulation contest. Details here:
Fractal Manipulation ContestRecently we ran a journal featuring fractal manipulations. Here's the natural follow-up to that - a Fractal Manipulation Contest!

• Entries must be posted to the fractal manipulation category - here on Deviant Art.
• Entries must have been posted on or after the date of this announcement.
• Only two entries per member allowed.
• Only entries submitted to the Contest Gallery will be eligible.
